Young Workers Committee
The goal of the Young Workers Committee is to bring a fresh voice and different perspective on issues that effect all union members, regardless of age. Young workers are defined as aged 35 and under, but the issues we face are similar to those other CEIU members face although they affect us differently. The CEIU Young Workers Committee looks forward to giving a voice to CEIU young workers and working in solidarity with any CEIU members who are willing to join us in our fight to better our workplaces and work/life balance.

The mandate of the Committee is to:
- Identify young workers issues and rights in the union and the workplace;
- Develop a communications plan to help mobilize and engage young workers;
- Build and strengthen the relationship of young workers with CEIU;
- Establish and promote Regional Young Workers’ Committees;
- Build solidarity on our common issues as workers regardless of age or employment status;
- Explore, develop, and review initiatives directed to promote and support the rights of young workers;
- Assist in the development of bargaining demands as they affect young workers;
- Promote the fair and equitable participation and access of young workers at all levels of the union;
- Forge links with other unions and coalition partners within the community.
