Update on SMSM PSDC/CR-04 Grievances at Service Canada (SMSM-1102)

In February 2017, after nearly four years (since March 26th, 2013), the employer sent the revised job description to the union for comment and suggested corrections. Feedback was provided to the employer in May 2017.

Further to the various steps in the evaluation of the Computer Generated Investigation Officer (CGIO) position that the Integrity Services Branch was scheduled to take by the end of October 2017 but were longer than planned, the employer was only able to get back to the union on March 1st 2018 with the second draft of the revised job description.

As early as April, the union team submitted its new suggestions and detailed comments to the employer concerning the new version of the CGIO job description. At the same time, representations were made to the employer on the SDA-1 group within Income Security Programs.

The union team is now waiting to hear back from the employer.

It should be remembered that we are still dealing with the job description and not yet with classification.

We will keep you advised as the next steps unfold. We invite the members involved in these cases to continue to consult the website for updates.
