2018 will be the year of the Women! Celebrate International Women’s Day!

Women and the people who support them have great power to make change when we stand together for a cause.  March 8th is International Women’s Day the day will be marked with rallies, talks, performances, marches and events so please look for some events in your area and please participate and you will find you will be pleased you did.

Global Gender Gap Reports show that it will take 217 years to close the gender parity gap!!!  Let’s change progress and move it forward more quickly by working together.  Unite with your Unions, family, friends, supporters, colleagues and communities to make our mark in 2018.  Let us be instrumental in ensuring that 2018 will be the year of the women!

As a Union, we often take the lead in fighting for equality. We must continue this fight, while ensuring that our fight is intersectional. This past year we have made great strides in many areas, nevertheless, we still have much to do.

We have been captured by the impact of the #MeToo movement, the #TimesUp response and the Millions marching worldwide for gender justice. Let us consider this our call to action to support all women’s rights and advance gender equality.  The problems can no longer be ignored we will not “keep quiet”.

Join this year’s International Women’s Day celebrations and add your voice to those calling out inequality!

Until all of us have made it, none of us have made it. “ Rosemary Brown
