CEIU Members Vote “Yes”

A majority of CEIU members voting on the proposed change to CEIU’s national governance structure voted in support of the change.

84.4% of voting members approved the proposal of a smaller National Executive which should contribute to the cohesiveness and effectiveness of CEIU’s national decision making process.

Now that the members have decided on the CEIU structure for the future, the election process to fill the 17 positions of the new CEIU National Executive will begin. Starting next week, a call for nominations will go out in order to establish a list of candidates for the positions of CEIU National President, CEIU National Executive Vice-President and Alternate. These three positions will be filled at Convention in early February.

The call for candidates for the NVP positions will go out shortly. The NVPs will be elected as in the past at CEIU by their constituents.

In Solidarity,
Chris Aylward
CEIU Trustee
