Support for postal workers

The Canadian Union of Postal Workers (CUPW) is set to strike at midnight, Thursday June 2. Canada Post is seeking major concessions from CUPW that include a two-tiered wage system and a second-rate sick leave plan. CEIU supports the postal workers in their battle to maintain the integrity of their collective agreement and to keep Canada Post as an effective public service.

For information about rallies and events you can join to support the postal workers, contact your nearest PSAC regional office or visit the CUPW website.

CEIU and CUPW have discussed the issue of EI cheque distribution in the event of a strike and the postal workers are not opposed to our members carrying out this work at cheque distribution centres.
