Collective Agreement Changes for Call Centres

CEIU has entered into consultations nationally with the employer at Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada and Service Canada regarding the implementation of the new collective agreement changes for call centres. Our members benefit in particular from the presence in these consultations by the participation of one of our National Vice-Presidents for Ontario, Travis Lahnalampi, who also served PSAC as a member of our bargaining team. Having sat at the table with Treasury Board, Brother Lahnalampi understands fundamentally the intent behind the gains made in our new collective agreement, and has been an invaluable resource to CEIU as we advance in our discussions with the employer.

Treasury Board and PSAC signed the PA collective agreement on June 14, 2017.  The employer has 150 days from the date of signing to implement the provisions of the new collective agreement.

CEIU will be issuing further communication and dialogue with our membership base as these consultations progress. For now, we encourage our members to let their colleagues and their local management know that they stand in solidarity with our bargaining team. Our union will defend the true intent behind the clauses of these gains to our collective agreement with our employer.
