Service Canada hours of operation reviewed at national consultation meeting

Service Canada is considering extended hours of service at up to 15 offices in metropolitan areas, adding to the 16 offices presently operating beyond regular hours. The union maintained its position that the implementation of extended hours should be on a voluntary basis for current staff.

In related comments to the employer, CEIU President Jeannette Meunier-McKay noted the need for progress on the issues of Outreach Services and working alone. Threat Risk Assessments (TRA), which deal with security matters, and the Hazard Prevention Program (HPP) are being applied to these issues.

Full details on these topics and others are available in the Service Canada / HRSDC – RHDCC group in CEIU’s social network for members. To sign up for a login account, visit the registration page of the CEIU Member Network.
