Solidarity, summer style

 Solidarity takes many forms, including social gatherings of members and their families. At CEIU’s Victoria local, members hold an annual Solidarity Picnic to honour fun and family as important parts of union solidarity.

CEIU staff member Suzanne Sorensen attended the picnic and sent the following notes and pictures.

On Saturday, June 13, 2009 CEIU Local 20975 (Victoria ISP/OAS/CPP/CPPD) members, family and friends gathered together at Saanich’s “Heritage Acres” for their Annual Solidarity Picnic. As the sun shone, picnickers enjoyed a delicious catered BBQ lunch, refreshing drinks, fabulous door prizes, exciting egg races and fun train rides. A fun approach to solidarity building!
