Employment Insurance Service Quality Review launched by government

The Government of Canada has launched an initiative in order to improve employment insurance services to Canadians. The Employment Insurance Service Quality Review (EI SQR) is a nationwide consultation process that includes the public, stakeholders and staff that administer the EI program.

CEIU representatives have met with the three Members of Parliament leading the initiative. The MPs include Terry Duguid, Parliamentary Secretary to Minister of Families, Children and Social Development, Roger Cuzner Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Employment, Workforce Development and Labour, and Rémi Massé, Member of Parliament for Avignon–La Mitis–Matane–Matapédia. Further information on the EI SQR is available on the Government of Canada web page.

Consultations will take place in May and June 2016 and includes site visits, town hall meetings and an on-line survey. Information on the town halls and on-line survey can be found on the link above. CEIU members who administer the EI program are strongly encouraged to participate in the on-line survey to ensure their perspective and experiences are included and considered in the review. This input is critical. CEIU will also submit a brief of the issues CEIU members face with recommendations.

CEIU members with any questions about the review should contact their Deputy Trustee or the CEIU national office.
