Election of CEIU Alternate National Vice-Presidents postponed

The Canadian Union of Postal Workers (CUPW) has been forced to take strike action to defend against concession demands from its employer, Canada Post. We support CUPW workers in their struggle and wish them a speedy victory. In view of the strike by CUPW workers, CEIU cannot proceed with the election of Alternate National Vice-Presidents.

When the strike is settled, we will move forward as quickly as possible in the regions where elections are required. In the meantime, where only one candidate has been nominated for a position we will declare such candidates to be acclaimed in the usual fashion.

We appreciate the patience and understanding of members, candidates and election chairpersons as we stand together in support of CUPW.
