Delegates got down to work on the first day of CEIU’s Triennial Convention and used their lunch period to demonstrate against recent cuts by the Harper government to services and jobs.
Reports from the convention’s By-Laws Committee and Finance Committee were taken up by delegates and their review will continue over the next four days. Details of the proceedings for September 16 are available here.
A noon hour rally was held to gather support against the series of service cuts to Canadians by the Harper government. National President Jeannette Meunier-McKay addressed the rally and urged convention delegates, observers and guests to continue the union’s campaign against the Harper agenda.
