Saskatchewan leaders wear their support for union negotiators

CEIU local and regional leaders in Saskatchewan met recently with senior management and took the opportunity to show support for the union in the current round of bargaining.

The meetings with management followed the union’s conference of local presidents in the Saskatchewan region. The conference decided to aim for a constructive set of talks with Service Canada management but to send, at the same time, a message to the employer that the union wanted to see progress made at the bargaining table. Throughout the meetings with management, the union side wore stickers and buttons that signaled their clear support for the bargaining team.

The PA bargaining team met with the Treasury Board negotiators from October 30 to November 2. “When our team meets with the employer it’s important for them to know that members are behind them,” said CEIU National President Jeannette Meunier-McKay. “And I know that support actions like this one are appreciated by team members.”
