Essential Service Agreements

We face new rules for bargaining in the 2007 round of negotiations. One new feature is the Essential Service Agreement which spells out which positions are required to provide services during any strike activity.

The national office of the CEIU will carry out the necessary negotiations with the departments where our members work, but local and regional leaders may be contacted by the employer on this issue. All inquiries from the employer should be referred to the CEIU National Resource Officer, Robin Kers.

The national office will consult with locals and regions as required in the process leading to the Essential Service Agreement for each department. Further information on Essential Service Agreements will be posted as it becomes available.
