Staying ready in New Glasgow

Despite the return to the bargaining table, members in New Glasgow, Nova Scotia, wore red for ready on October 6.

Members of CEIU local 80205 greeted National President Jeannette Meunier-McKay and National Vice-president Theresa MacInnis with a sea of red.

The local is continuing its strike preparations. Negotiations may lead to a settlement, but if not, Local 80205 will be ready. CEIU is urging all locals to keep up the pressure on the government to give our bargaining team the maximum leverage possible when negotiations resume.

Local President Terri Fleury reports that strike preparation activities are continuing throughout Nova Scotia. “Members are certainly ready to walk” she said.

At local 80205, a noon hour picket took place and received good coverage in the local paper.

Good work, New Glasgow!
