Members in Newfoundland and Labrador are wearing their discontent with Treasury Board’s latest offer. National Vice-President Denise Best announced that her members will be dressing down until the union gets a new contract.
“This lets the employer know that we are preparing to move into strike mode once again to get a decent contract for ourselves, our families and for those who will come after us.” she said.
Members in the region will not be limiting themselves to dressing down. Noon hour demonstrations and other activities will increase as the strike deadline draws closer. According to Best, Newfoundland and Labrador have been rock-solid in previous strikes “And Treasury Board had better know that it’s going to be the same this time around.”
