CEIU’s national committees play an active role in the life of the union. Information about the committees and their work is available in this section of the site.
At present, there are four national committees.
The Human Rights / Race Relations Committee is charged with exploring, developing and reviewing human rights and race relations initiatives. Its members are drawn from four groups:
- Aboriginals
- Members with Disabilities
- Gays, Lesbians, Bisexuals and Transgendered Persons
- Visible Minorities
The Citizenship and Immigration Advisory Committee, the Immigration and Refugee Board Committee and the Call Centres’ Committee provide advice and leadership on issues of importance to CEIU members at CIC, IRB and the Call Centres. Members from across the country sit on these committees which meet on a regular basis in Ottawa.
