National Committees

CEIU’s national committees play an active role in the life of the union. Information about the committees and their work is available in this section of the site.

At present, there are two national committees.

The Human Rights / Race Relations Committee is charged with exploring, developing and reviewing human rights and race relations initiatives. Its members are drawn from four groups:

  • Aboriginals
  • Members with Disabilities
  • Gays, Lesbians, Bisexuals and Transgendered Persons
  • Visible Minorities

The Citizenship and Immigration Advisory Committee provides advice and leadership on issues of importance to CEIU members at CIC. Members from across the country sit on the committee which meets on a regular basis in Ottawa.
